Couldnt find a thread on this topic - post your good short films/videos here!

Edvard posted lately about The Third & The Seventh - Beautiful CG short film

This one below is very worth a look IMO - very different to the above (yet reminds me of it) - about using an old style printing-(letter)-press

I came across it here @ the FontShop blog

Very nice Tomos!

If you remember this one, you'll also enjoy Parts 2 and 3:

All at once, weird, beautiful, hideous, fascinating...

Let's make this into the short film counterpart of the "Recommend some Music Videos.." thread!

Here's something: Nuit Blanche by Arev Manoukian

Black Hole by Phil and Olly:

Either you've seen it before, or you know EXACTLY what's going to happen, but it's cathartic nonetheless.
Wait for it...

A short film that I like is "Wath Alice Bleed".

FAIR WARNING ~ Graphic and disturbing...

Don't watch if spiders give you the squicks easily.
Otherwise, it's beautifully rendered and the concept is compelling... if a bit creepy.

Quote

A moth being caught in a spiders web. Struggling for an escape, the moths panic movements only result in less chance of survival. What follows is the type of causality everyones expecting. The spider appears, claims its prey and feeds on it. The way nature works. But it’s the point of view that creates an intense relationship between the hunter and its victim. There is much more to explore, much more to feel if one takes the time to really experience the content of a split second.

Anyone who enjoys dark anim must watch Coraline.

Yes, Coraline was great.
...And if you want dark, go with this:

The Backwater Gospel
Bachelor film project 2011 from The Animation Workshop.

As long as anyone can remember, the coming of The Undertaker has meant the coming of death. Until one day the grim promise fails and tension builds as the God fearing townsfolk of Backwater wait for someone to die

Love the style...

And on a lighter note...

Modern Times by Ben Craig

Ben Craig is now being pursued by some major studios, let's see what happens...

That was pretty cool. I do like transhuman fiction, though the reality is simply terrifying, and nothing like what you get in fiction stories.

@Deo - Love it! That's is one absolutely heartbreaking little film. Terrific imagery with that deep sea diving metaphor.

Thx for sharing.

DarkHeart Productions' 2007 short The Black Button - the wonderful little movie that formed the basis of the feature length film The Box plus a host of imitators.
