Basic Action Scripting

Top  Previous  Next

The Action Script list (in the Options Dialog) consists of a single TEST followed by 3 pipe characters (|||) followed by an action string, and then optionally additional ||| separated action strings.

For example:

IMAGE ||| MSG hello

Or for example:

VIDEO ||| MSG hello there ||| MSG goodbye

A more realistic example using the helper tools:

IMAGE ||| %dowatermark% ||| %doemail%

You can temporarily disable any line by preceding it with // to mark it as "commented out", which will cause the program to ignore it.

The TEST part can be used to restrict the actions to files of a certain file extension.

You can specify:

•*
Matches against any file (asterisk).

•VIDEO
Matches against any video file (extensions .mpg;.avi;.wmv)

•IMAGE
Matches against any image file (extensions .jpg;.bmp;.gif;.png)

•or any ; separated .extension list
For example: .jpg;.avi

When a TEST matches, all of the action strings following it will be "queued" up for execution, in order.

If any of those actions should fail, all of the action strings will be placed into the "failed" buffer, where they can be re-queued for a later re-attempt.
