Win8.1-64 and now Win10 are not so horrible for me, because, for a year or so, I've been progressively using these excellent $FREE (Donations accepted) bits of software from Winaero:

• Winaero WEI Tool
• Winaero Tweaker
• Personalization Panel for Windows 10

These are worth a look too:

• Downloads / Winaero Software
• Download the last stable version of Winamp 5.6.6.3516 plus skins and plugins

I don't know, Tom, maybe the best had been not even to mention the Tweak-10 program! When I was quoting the Tweak-10 features, I was finally noticing how many features were from a "cleaner", not from a "customizer", so the $25 label made me decide this program should be satisfied with having been mentioned at all!

not using Windows 10, but had good experiences with few of their offerings for Windows 8
