Those are cute, but...

I'm not sure I would call them icons? Sure, they might come in (high-res) icon dimensions, and even in .ico files, but... I dunno, am I being overly pedantic?

A valid point.  Most folks who have attempted to define what an icon should look like have suggested that the image should relay some meaning as to the purpose of the icon itself...

Hey you never know:  If I was doing a big dissertation on the various characters of the cartoon series Futurama, and I needed to have different subfolders for my notes about each character....  And if I wanted custom images on those folders....  Well, I'd have it made!

Extra note:
It occurs to me that I should reference the artist
Artist: PixelPirate (Lasse Salling) (Available for custom work)

@f - Can't speak for everyone, but I'd be very disappointed if you ever stopped being so picky about things. I often learn something by reading your hardcore tech diatribes and comments. Please don't ever change. ;D

Do not like, too clay-ish.

In my opinion: it doesn't make sense if an icon looks as real life object so much… or a photo.
Hyperrealism and Futurama? Not for me.
