I didn't even know you can convert a font, so I was surprised by today's offer from
fontlab. But you can, and now even online and cheap: $10 for all the fonts you can manage to convert in 24 hours!
TransType Online Font Converter:
http://www.fontlab.com/use-online/The current version works only on Windows, but we're working on a Mac version. Hopefully by next year.
http://www.fontlab.c...roozz/transtype-pro/ :
Font Conversion for a Fraction of the Price!
Save 94% on TransType Pro.
You read that right: Massive savings on the world's best (only?) universal font conversion software.
How can we do this? Simple - we put it online.
Fontlab has partnered with Roozz.com Aps to make the Windows version of TransType Pro available through your browser. This means that instead of buying and installing TRPro on your computer you can just rent it for a day at the measly price of US$9.99 - only 5½% of the usual price!
You need to bookmark this website now!
- Do you have a one-off project that requires Type 1 fonts on a Windows computer - but they're on your Mac?
- Your old font library needs to be moved to a new computer - which doesn't know how to use some of those ancient fonts. You'd like to "upgrade" them.
- Task X is due tomorrow and it just needs a couple OpenType fonts. But you have them only in Type 1 format. And you don't have time to run a purchase order up and down the chain of command.
- You've found the perfect font for your layout - but it's a TTF and the customer has specified that all fonts must use Postscript outlines.
These are just a few of the typical problems for which TransType/Roozz is the perfect solution. You can be up and running - perhaps even finished - in just a couple minutes at an eminently reasonable cost.
Of course if converting fonts is a daily, weekly, or even monthly part of your workflow then you'd be better off with the desktop version of TransType Pro. But if font conversion is an occasional task then TransType/Roozz is an efficient and cost-effective remedy.
