Mouser, don't forget to list the new plugins on your FARR addons page. I would assume that this is still the best place for new FARR users to discover what plugins are available.

[mouser]

yes, thanks for the reminder.
if you see one that i missed -- message or email me.

[delwoode]

wow what a fantastic and thoroughly thought out plugin!!
erm, I spoke too soon, LOL
I watched the video but it's not working for me. There must be something I have to set up that I haven't done?
I just installed the plugin but when I type fspell necessary nothing gets shown apart from "not found click for web search"
Fspell is installed though as when i type just fspell it shows some text about it.
I am using
FARR 2.98.01

[kazaan]

Unlike delwoode, the video works and i see it. Awesome plugin! amazed at how you guys write these things and dazzle with possibilities. Great job.  one donation coming up  But. But. I have the same problem as delwoode. same message. nothing happening. Am i to make sure i have some dictionaries installed or something? Win7, 32bit. just install the latest plugin on lates FARR2. TIA

[ewemoa]

Just tried installing it.  Seems to work here.

• Downloaded the zip file.
• Created folder under FARR's Plugins subfolder named FarrSpell.
• Extracted the content of the zip file into newly created folder -- so the contents include dict\, icons\, etc.
• Brought up FARR and typed rplugins and pressed Enter key at dialog box.
• Saw FarrSpell (v1.04.01 - Februrary 14th, 2012) as one of the results.
• In FARR's main window, after clearing the existing text, typed fspell necesary followed by the Enter key.
• Observed that the first result was CORRECT: necessary.

FARR version 2.105.1 (Portable) on Windows XP Pro SP3.

[ewemoa]

An additional data point...just verified above steps with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

[Don Cody]

Using the portable version of FARR installed on a Windows 7 notebook. I do not see the proper icon for correctly spelled words. I see an icon that looks like a DOS screen. Also I do not see the Thesaurus entries in the list. All dictionaries and the Thesaurus are located in the FarrSpell plugin directory.
Very frustrating. I would appreciate any advice on how to get it to work.

EDIT: Could the problem have anything to do with what program the dictionary files and the Thesaurus are associated with on my PC? I noticed that the Thesaurus is associated with Windows Media Player and the dictionary files are associated with "Windows Shell Common"...? Furthermore I get the following error:

---------------------------
Find and Run Robot
---------------------------
Access violation at address 75AF48FC in module 'OLEAUT32.dll'. Read of address 00000001.

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

EDIT 2: Problem partially solved after reinstalling FARR and plugins. The dictionary files in the original installation were not in the right subdirectory. However, the OLEAUT32.dll error is still there, every time I try to access any row in the list of suggested words.

Hi Don,  let me try the addon on a win7 machine and see what kind of issues i get.. It may just be a minor bug that doesn't show up in my normal development machine but which is an easy fix..  Or it could be something that requires a more elaborate fix for the plugin -- for example if i was assuming that the plugin directory was writable.

[Don Cody]

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

As I wrote earlier, I'm using the portable version which I copied to the Windows 7 c:\users\myname\appdata\roaming subdirectory. I have several other portable applications installed there too.

I'll try and see if there may be similar problems with other plugins. My experience so far is that the OLEAUT32.dll error message does not only occur with Fspell. For example I had this problem with Windows Search. The first time I ran it FARR crashed, and when I restarted it the OLEAUT32.dll error came up.

[Don Cody]

Further to my previous posting I can now report that I think I have found what causes the error which I mentioned. After a process of elimination, I concluded that the error is caused by FARRSubScript.dll. If I disable it the Fspell plugin works with no problem. Perhaps now someone could fix it.

[mouser]

Now that is starting to ring a bell..

FarrSpell does not use FARRSubScript, so they are totally independent things -- not sure why FARRSubScript would be interfering with FarrSpell.

It may be that the FARRSubScript.dll is out of date and needs to be updated.  Does anyone know the latest download for it?

[Don Cody]

The FARRSubScript version that I'm using is 1.10 which I found in this thread http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=17153.msg152159#msg152159 .

[mouser]

Don, If you remove the FarrSubScript based plugins, does FarrSpell then work perfectly? No missing icons, etc.?

[Don Cody]

When I disabled all of them, Fspell would work, showing the icons etc. but the OLEAUT32.dll would still appear. The error goes away only if I disable the FARRSubScript.dll. In this case the CZB_pack plugins do not work .
