Interface seems worst in the new version. I could handle the previous version but this one has gone berserk. At least they have included older interface thou.

There's been lots of talk about this over at the SketchUp forums.

The general consensus seems to be that the program has a set of powerful features, but that the interface is almost totally unapproachable!

Very interesting software. Thanks for the info.
I did use Poser and Bryce (not mine!) a few years ago to help modeling a theatre space. From what I can tell, the interface looks similar. But this is just a superficial constatation.

Seems to be the name of the game for this type of software. I've "used" Bryce, Maya PLE and Blender, and none of the interfaces were what I'd call intuitive or friendly. I sometime suspect it's deliberate. Maybe the folks that have the mathematical background to code this sort of thing are actually refugees from the Area 51 crash?

Don't forget to mention that you can also download the PDF manual and training videos. Somebody somewhere mentioned that this is a ~$700 value.

Might as well get it while you can!  :)

Tech support is supposed to be free too. Be interesting to see how that will actually work once the word gets out.

I will try to remain optimistic... ;)

I downloaded all three files and they went at about 40-50 KBps the entire time. That's a lot faster than dial-up, but fairly slow for broadband.

Firefox said top-speed of 2.1MB per second here -
I've never seen speed listed as MB's per second, in theory I have a fast connection but rarely never seen a download that fast...

I was getting an average of 24KBps (and I had 4 connections active for each file). Pretty slow when my connection is usually more like 850-900Kbps.

Doesn't really matter though - got there in the end.
