maybe the best thing regarding any kind of cpu usage meter is just to use a series of icons, lets say 2 for normal vs tamed,
or perhaps 3, for low/med/high cpu loads, and let user customize these icons if they want, and provide one or two default sets.
that way you could customize it to have whatever appearance you want, including a completely unchanging one.

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea.  CacheMan's tray icon is similar.  You can have a static icon, a numeric icon, or a graph.

i have been thinking about restoring stopped processes; if this is something people want i will add it.

i could also add the possibilty of doing certain things when processes die or have their priorities changed (like sending an email, etc), if this was something that people really wanted, though this would involve more work (not so much work in implementation of core functionality but in adding such options to the process tamer 2 configuration gui).

I can see myself using the restoring stopped services/processes option, but I get enough email as it is, so I don't think I'd use the email notification gizmo.
