Man uses Wii Calendar Function to Catch His Cheating Wife
« on: November 20, 2007, 08:36 PM »
In this sad story, a soldier returns from abroad and hears from his friends that his wife has been less than faithful.  He investigates, and using his Wii's colaborative calendar function discovers that indeed, she has been...  ah, playing games with somebody else.

It's bound to happen: as technology becomes more intertwined, privacy is compromised.  In the case of somebody being bad, it takes more work to cover your tracks.  Otherwise, products that "clean your browser's cache" or promise anonymous surfing wouldn't be nearly as popular.

To be fair, it kind of sounds like she wasn't trying that hard.  OR, she possessed almost no knowledge of how the Wii calendar works and why it'd be a Bad Idea[tm] to use it for coordinating naughty rendevouzes. Rendevii?  Rendevouzen.

Which reminds me: If my wife logs in and asks anyone here, it's a total coincidence that Darwin and I often post at the same time.  It's completely innocent, I tellya.

I wonder how many cheating spouses just changed their minds about wanting a wii for Giftmas...and how many that suspect their spouses of cheating, suddenly want to buy a wii for them.

No - you're not in denial fodder (at least about posting the kudo to Ralf  :o  :P) - I was WAY off with my "guesses". A little searching and the winner is:

Lashiec

who said "Ralf, you are on fire these days. You really took to the heart mouser's plea for collaboration with the site".

Aw, thanks.  Just trying to help out around here.

And if there's anything I know how to do, it's finding weird crap on the intertubes.

Just wait'll you get a load of my 600-part series on Dianetics and Scientology, the one true faith.  My plan is to have you all converted and the site reorganized as a tribute to L.Ron by Christmas.

Dianetics - very interesting stuff. I used to talk about Scientology in class when we covered religion (Intro Socio-cultural Anthropology) without knowing anything about it. I went on a binge two summers ago reading everything I could - talk about the truth being stranger than fiction! I'll look forward to it, Ralf (but secretly doubt that you can cover it in a 600 part series, though I'll applaud the effort!).

Confession: Everything I know about Scientology I learned from South Park.

So approximately 75% of my 600-part series consists of fart jokes and off-color references to Tom Cruise.

Sounds good to me, Ralf! Bring it on! Tom Cruise is on my list of those actors whose films I WILL NOT see out of protest for his idiocy off-screen. Why reward twits like him and Mel Gibson at the box office? Anyway, point is off-colour references to Tom Cruise will be well-received!

To be honest, fodder, neither Mel nor Tom, have appeared in anything in years that I'm even remotely interested in... so noble as my stand sounds, it's not much of a sacrifice and there's really no temptation to pirate anything!

I would say, that despite all the scientology stuff and dating Nicole Kidman for so long, Tom Cruise is still a good actor, with quite some good movies in his career. Mel Gibson, on the other side... he lost it when he started directing.

Hey, this is not the topic at hand. Ya know guys, if you're "cheating" on your loved ones, be careful to cheat on the Wii as well. Yes, that includes cheating in Wii Sports, hitting the other guy with the controller will do ;D

But is there anything else important to know? :)

Regarding the original post, I think Jimi had the solution...

Spoiler
Hey Joe Lyrics (Jimi Hendrix)

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe Lyrics

[1st verse [Oo-backing vocals on each line]]
Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?
Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand?
Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old lady,
you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man.
Yeah,! I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady,
you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man.
Huh! And that ain't too cool.

[2nd verse [Ah. -backing vocal on each line]]
Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot your woman down,
you shot her down.
Uh, hey Joe, I heard you shot you old lady down,
you shot her down to the ground. Yeah!

Yes, I did, I shot her,
you know I caught her messin' 'round,
messin' 'round town.
Uh, yes I did, I shot her
you know I caught my old lady messin' 'round town.
And I gave her the gun and I shot her!

Alright
(Ah! Hey Joe)
Shoot her one more time again, baby!
(Oo)
Yeah.
(Hey Joe!)
Ah, dig it!
(Hey)
Ah! Ah!
(Joe where you gonna go?)
Oh, alright.

[3rd verse]
Hey Joe, said now,
(Hey)
uh, where you gonna run to now, where you gonna run to?
Yeah.
(where you gonna go?)
Hey Joe, I said,
(Hey)
where you goin' to run
to now, where you, where you gonna go?
(Joe!)
Well, dig it!
I'm goin' way down south, way down south,
(Hey)
way down south to Mexico way! Alright!
(Joe)
I'm goin' way down south,
(Hey, Joe)
way down where I can be free!
(where you gonna...)
Ain't no one gonna find me babe!
(...go?)
Ain't no hangman gonna,
(Hey, Joe)
he ain't gonna put a rope around me!
(Joe where you gonna..)
You better belive it right now!
(...go?)
I gotta go now!
Hey, hey, hey Joe,
(Hey Joe)
you better run on down!
(where you gonna...)
Goodbye everybody. Ow!
(...go?)
Hey, hey Joe, what'd I say,
(Hey.......................Joe)
run on down.
(where you gonna go?)

I'm not concerned about Tom Cruise's acting ability (I've always found him rather one dimensional with litlle range, actually) - what put me over the edge was his attack on Brooke Shields and other of his remarks subsequentto that, which have led me to conclude that this is not someone who I am willing to continue to reward by paying to see him perform - this includes his movies when they come on tv. I won't watch them because I won't contribute to ratings that might encourage the channel to pay for more of his movies, driving his market value up, so to speak. He's a condescending, preening, wee little man who presumes to lecture other people on subjects he's not qualified to have an opinion on, let alone spout off about. Yes, I know, I could be describing myself, but I don't have a captive audience willing to hang on my every word. Mel Gibson - drunken, debauched, self righteous, anti-semite. Ugly. Nope, won't be contributing the Gibson family scholarship fund, either.

Now, back on topic: I like the way you think, Lashiec! Hitting the other guy with the controller - nice!
