Title bar at Startup
« on: October 18, 2007, 06:16 PM »
Sometimes at startup, the following Screenshot Captor title bar appears on my desktop:
ScreenshotCaptorStartupDsktpImg.gif

I always close it but where in preferences can I prevent this from appearing?  I already have "Start Minimized" checked.

Thanks.

I get the same truncated Window/Title Bar on system startup ... seen with Screenshot Captor v2.37.03 when running Windows Vista : not sure if this occurs with earlier versions of SC under Vista?

Hi ... I will test for you. I am pretty sure that I get the truncated Window Bar every time I startup Vista on one of my laptops.

Thanks for you great products ... Charles

PS Any thoughts to updating Screenshot Captor (or perhaps even Minicap) so that it can launch an application and then auto-capture that application's main window automatically/silently each time the main window is changed or updated?

Just so we're on the same page, this happens only on Vista, not XP Home.

I'd be a tester too but this doesn't happen after every startup.

Truncated Title bar at Startup only occurs under Vista ... yes.  Will verify if it occurs with every Vista startup on my laptop.

Please see my other recent post for more details on Auto-Capture Window On Change/Update ... thanks. Will be happy to upload example of Window I would like to auto-capture on change/update, perhaps on that other thread ... don't want to hi-jack this one.

Charles:  I'm not the author; Mouser is.  I was only responding to Mouser's post requesting testers and informing him of ScreenCaptor's behavior on my systems.

Hi ... sorry.  Since Mouser is actively monitoring this thread, I was taking the opportunity to address this and other issues while I had his attention.  My reply was meant for Mouser.

Later ... Charles

Truncated Window/Title Bar does occur on ~66% of Vista startups ... SC v 2.37.03 & Vista Ultimate

I get the same thing when I start up screeenshot Captor on my laptop. I am running XP Tablet PC Edition (basically professional edition). Not just Vista.
Only happens on first start of SC per restart (as far as I can tell - not entirely sure...)
Thanks
-Daniel

This still happens on my Vista box more often than it doesn't.

Has anyone found the solution or is the issue dead?

Hey, no problem.  Thanks.

Program in general is a lot more stable than it used to be (pretty impressive considering its use on Vista) and this is just a minor annoyance.

I have the same problem in both XP and Vista. In XP it does close itself but in Vista it stays on the screen and I have to close it each time by clicking on the X in the bar. I would be happen to help you do some testing in either XP or Vista or both.

So far, so good.  Installed, rebooted, SSC loaded and appeared briefly on task bar before disappearing.  Version reads 2.40.03.

It's going to be nice not having to close that little box anymore.

Interesting thing is, I also used DCupdater hoping to catch latest version to solve original issue since I was running SSC v. 2.37.03.  But DCupdater showed 2.37.01!  Now it correctly shows I'm running 2.40.03.

Anyway, thanks for the fix and I'll post further results on this thread should this same issue develop.
