HDD - RAID 1 - problem

(1/1)

ShuKsT:
I've just setup a RAID 1 with 2x 500GB seagate and sometimes when i listen to my music that's located on the raid disks the music freezes

could it be the HDDs? or the motherboard raid controller?
it's an ASUS P5B Deluxe that supports raid 0, 1, 10, 5.

I was using winamp.... It occurred 2 times since yesterday....

Thx in advance :D

Lashiec:
I would go for the RAID controller, but RAID is not exactly my field of expertise. Do you have the latest drivers for the controller and everything?

yes latest

f0dder:
Shouldn't really be any problems with RAID mirroring, but it might be an idea checking the S.M.A.R.T status of your disks... unfortunately you can't usually do this with the low-end/onboard RAID stuff...

Does CPU usage shoot up radically when the skipping happens? Does other things freeze, like any on-screen animation or the mouse cursor? Are you using Crapsta or XP?
