GemX - missing in action
Darwin:
Hmm... Right then. Off to download Betaclock and dsclock... Gizmo Richards also recommended a couple of free clocks - I'll have to revisit those, as well (I'm pretty sure the on he was using was shareware, though...).
Anyway, thanks Aram  - I'll post back with my experiences!

Gizmo recommended:
Free:

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1092761816/1 LClock
He notes that he uses http://www.12ghosts.com/ghosts/showtime.htm 12Ghosts Showtime, which is shareware ($22)...

I tried both of these before. Betaclock is better. Unless you need additional features like alarms and such.
Darwin:
I'll install it first, then! I'm not really after any additional functionality beyond displaying the calendar on mouseover...
This feature creep KILLS me because I look for something simple (like the calendar view) and wind up going for something that will balance my chequebook for me while playing an mp3 and ripping a DVD, so I might as start with something that has been recommended to do what I want it to do, and nothing more!
Thanks for interjecting that comment, Aram. You've likely saved me from, well, myself!
Ralf Maximus:
Are you using this, Ralf?

No. I'm trying to avoid installing new widgets if possible; they're like potato chips. If I eat one the whole bag's suddenly gone and there'll be crumbs all over my desktop. Or something.
