I found these.  They seem to work OK.

mouser:
hey jeff, that's a great find.
let me add that one to the help file of browsertrayswitch.

do you have any suggestions from using them of how to improve browsertrayswitch or do theey solve all your needs.

ps. im posting a link to that site which seems super useful, in the living room.

Carol Haynes:
I downloaded the default browser utility and it seesm to work OK. It does however have the same issue with Firefox as BrowserTraySwitch.

Did you get a chance to look at that after my previous post?

I wonder if it is build specific? I am using Firefox 1.0.6

Jus to remind ...

Set Explorer as default - works fine
Set Firefox as deafult - works fine but reports that it is not the default browser.

The simple solution, I suppose, is to switch of 'check to see if Firefox is the default browser' option.

mouser:
yeah i have my check if default stuff turned off always in all browsers.
i haven't had a chance to check into it but i will try.
i really wish these browsers had come to an agreement about a common scheme for this stuff, it's super annoying.

TucknDar:
I would like to see a commandlineswitch for setting default browser with this utility. Something like "BrowserTraySwitch.exe -default 2" for setting browser 2 in a list as default browser. It would be useful for systems with more than one user with different browser-preferences. I could put a shortcut with this switch in the startupfolder, BrowserTraySwitch would do its magic and then exit when done.

What do you think?
