Do you want to see F&R with optional skins?

mouser:
there are enough users of f&r, i'm not trying to pull in more donators with a feature that would upset current users.
i'm really more interested in existing users, whether they would like a skinned appearance or not.
if they don't want it, then i'm not gonna add it.

kfitting:
i think the keyword here is 'optional'. if it doesn't interfere with the the find and run performance we've all come to love then it can't do any harm - can it?-nudone (September 09, 2005, 06:37 AM)

Agreed.  I think maybe the best idea would be to forget skinnning for now, but code the program so it can be added relatively painlessly in the future.  If skinning could be added while allowing FindRun to optionaly remain in it's pure unadulterated form, it may be worth considering in the future and you wouldnt want to have burned your bridges before jumping off them.

nontroppo:
to be honest, when I first tried FARR, I was turned off by the "ugly" launch window. Compared to AppRocket, and especially QuickSilver, FARR's Win32 native window grated on the eyes (my Windows is heavily themed away from the IMO ugly murky grey faux-3D of Windows). But the functionality was better than anything else on windows so I accepted it (using transparency to 'mask' the window somewhat). I'd like a skinning option, as long it didn't adversely effect speed or resource usage, but it is far from high on my personal priority list of important stuff for FARR...

iphigenie:
If you add skins, please do make them optional, i.e. make it possible to use the windows skin / standard skin.

I use windows blinds and I prefer it when apps use my windows blinds skin.

mouser:
skins have been added for quite a long time, and they are optional :)
