What Is That Program Called? I Forget!!!

<< < (3/3)

Nighted:
Well, it's not on nonags and it's not a pcmag utility. That I'm 100% sure about. It's on an developers website somewhere. Argh!!!

Darwin:
Sorry Nighted, I've failed. Without knowing the name of the app, I can't figure out if I have it or not! I'm beginning to suspect that I had the utility on one of numerous magazine cover cd/dvd's that I collected when I lived in the UK in 2000-2003. Sadly, I got rid of them all some time ago.

Nighted:
I've got to sort through my hard drives soon anyway (a daunting task). If/When I come across it, I'll post a link here.

This is similar to what you are looking for - InfoTip - http://www.na.rim.or.jp/~norio/index-e.shtml - You need to add the info in a tab under properties though and not just as a text file in the folder.
The page also has another utility, ZipTip - shows the contents of zip files in a tooltip.
You should check these out even they are not the exact same utility.
Great little timesavers... have been using these for about 7 years with no issues (even though the site says alpha)

-Edited to make sense... re-read what I wrote and realized that it was incoherent... well is 4:00am and I havent slept-

Moon software at http://www.moonsoftware.com/freeware.asp has a program called filenote which sounds like it does exactly what you want , except for files, not folders. (S'pose that means it doesn't do near what you want really!). I left a note in their forum sort of asking whether it was feasible to adapt theirs. Left the address of this thread, telling them about this discussion. No interest from them tho it seems. Maybe an email direct to one of the principals from the company might elicit a response.
