Bug: No focus after Alt-Space

(1/1)

rbeeger:
Hi!

I have used AppRocket and Launchy in the past, which seem to be either dead or nearly dead now. Those launchers are similar to Find & Run. They used "Alt-Space" as the hotkey to bring them up. So it happens sometimes that I press Alt-Space instead of Break to bring up Find & Run. If no other application takes this shortcut, the system menu of the current application is shown. When I now press ESC to get rid of the menu and then Break Find&Run comes up with the cursor inside the text field but when I type nothing appears inside the text field. I then have to press Break twice once to hide it and once to bring it up again. Then it works as expected.
I don't have to press ESC to produce this behaviour. Even when I press Break while the system menu is showing, I get the same behaviour.

you're right - i can reproduce it!
that sure is strange.. it seems hitting esc after alt+space still leaves focus inside system menu (press down arrow after escape and youll see you're still "in it").

i should be able to fix that i think..
i noticed also that the hotkey config of F&R won't let you type alt+space.
would you like me to try to add support for alt+space hotkey?

Darwin:
I'd be interested in seeing support for the ALT-SPACEBAR shortcut. As the original poster noted, coming from (in my case) AppRocket, I still find myself hitting that key combination to try to bring up F&R. Interesting that I've never noticed the problem reported though. I guess I am still locked into using the mouse ;) as I've always just clicked on F&R's app window to bring it into focus and started typing. I can't believe that I never noticed that, actually.

alt+space hotkey is now an option, see latest beta download in this section.
