That's what I thought when I looked. Are the changes just limited to the new interface and a few bug fixes?

Well... it appears that they went for over five years without a major update, so one can't begrudge them rolling out a paid update. Anyway, nod5 pasted in the relevant bit, which is similar to the blurb they sent out announcing the new version in early July:
