Possible conflict with VLC?
« on: November 24, 2006, 05:08 PM »
I am using the v1.60.06 beta release. When I have LaunchBar Commander running, the video in the VLC media player window is blank, but audio is fine.  When I shut down LaunchBar Commander, VLC works normally.  Can anyone else confirm this?

i know this is almost a month old but i tried the portable version of vlc http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable and it works fine.
if you consider changing mediaplayer i suggest mplayer http://www.mplayerhq.hu/. it's a command line mediaplayer but there's some frontends available, being my favorite so far rulesplayer http://www.dsource.org/projects/rulesplayer.
it uses embebed codecs (don't need to install), just download the full codec package http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html (scroll down to "binary codec packages") and copy to the codec folder inside rulesplayer.

I got the same problem with the portable version of vlc.  Must be my system.
