sgtret:
I use Spell Catcher Plus.  I have not found an application in which is doesn’t work.  Their update for MS Vista and IE7 came out a few days ago, so it is still a very active software. You can get it and the Mac version as well at http://www.rainmakerinc.com/

Darwin:
Thanks for pointing me toward Spell Catcher Plus, sgtret. I'm trying it out now and it's great!

kalos:
sirs, I like so much google's spell checker

look what it can do:

it offers to correct:
"goo dmorning" to "good morning"
"monring" to "morning"
"mor ning" to "morning"

isnt it "clever"? which spell checker can do these?

Darwin:
Well... "monring" to "morning" isn't particularly noteworthy, but your other two examples are! Spell Catcher Plus failed both the other tests. I *suspect* that I can set it up to do this, maybe with the custom dictionary or with some of its other tools, but it certainly doesn't do it out of the box.
Right, I'm off to look into Google's spellchecker - you've piqued my interest!

Grorgy:
Has anyone had any success finding an alternative dictionary for tinyspell+ ?  The help files and forum are less than helpful   I would like to try it but its no good to me if i cant get it to check at least in British English
