kmplayer, whoa!!!
masu:
thanks for the hint for KMPlayer. It seems so that it can also play unfinished videos like on emule. The interface seems also to be better than VLC. I think I will replace VLC with KMPlayer.
Nighted:
Strange. I find MPC plays video flawlessly in comparison to KMPlayer.
Of course, that's in combination with ffdshow and the proper codecs.
KMPlayer is very nice though and has features I wish MPC had.... :-\
Dirhael:
The reason it's playing better on KMPlayer in comparison to the others has nothing to do with the application, but everything to do with your codecs and/or video renderer + colour space settings. In this case with H.264 encoded content, KMPlayer (with the bundled H.264 codec) is actually very inefficient in comparison to any DirectShow player when you are using the CoreAVC codec. That said, it is a very nice program that I use daily, even if the configuration dialogue is designed by evil hamsters from hell...
Oh and in response to masu; Any DS player, ranging from MPC to WMP, will play unfinished videos as long as you use a proper splitter. I'm going to guess that the files in question are of the AVI type? If so, what you should be using is the Gabest AVI splitter (which I think is what KMPlayer uses as well) :)
mwang:
Has the charge against KMPlayer about GPL violation been cleared?
Curt:
Maybe you should update / upgrade your QuickTime Player. The playback of this file in QuickTime Player PRO 7.2 is absolutely flawless.
KMPlayer is okay, though - that's why I have kept it for half a year by now - but MPC is a little less buggy.
