Thanks Nudone, great review!

DCC has tackled some heavy software, but this review covered a lot of ground, much like the Text Editor and Email reviews. Not surprisingly, your conclusion was fair, too — that there are a couple of great programs, but several significantly good ones out there to do whatever job you need it to do for your own work. Thus, the reason why so many swear by Irfanview or lately, FastStone for example. Thanks Nudone (and mouser), as always and on behalf of other members, we're grateful for all the hard work you did!

Jibz:
Outstanding review .

Yes, great work. It must have been a huge effort....
One thing about "RAW format" - this must be a real nightmare for small software producers... not only do all the camera firms have their own proprietary RAW format, but also this format changes from camera to camera within a brand....

thanks Zaine, Miles and Jibz (and thanks on behalf of mouser, too).

always nice to know that you find such a review useful or at least worth reading.

camera manufacturers do seem to enjoy playing around with the RAW format but when there are tools like RawShooter Essentials 2005 it sort of proves that a single program can handle the situation. if RawShooter can do it, and it's free, then i wouldn't have thought it too much to ask for the major commercialware image management tools to work in a similar way.

i admit that i only tried RawShooter Essentials 2005 with a Canon 20D but i got the impression that it would work with all the other cameras as well. i could be wrong of course because i couldn't really test that theory.

it's definitely a bit of a grey area.

Great job, Nudone.  We appreciate all the time and energy you squandered to enlighten us.  I'm happy to add my meagre contribution to the masses you have no doubt already received. Hope it helps a little.
