Laptop with Windows 10, and Norton 360, and Malwarebytes

(1/1)

ethelbertmagnus:
Hi everyone,
I have a laptop with Windows 10, and Norton 360, and Malwarebytes. I wish I could tell you more, but all I know so far is that a little box pops up in the lower right corner of Desktop about once a day with what looks like little ads. If I click on it all it does is disappear.
Many thanks.

tomos:
Can you post a screenshot of it ?

mouser:
Norton is much too bloated for my tastes.. these days most of the big antivirus tools are. I'd uninstall it.  Malwarebytes seems better if you pay for it, though it does pop up messages if you don't.  These days windows built in antivirus seems sufficient so you don't need those 3rd party tools annoying you -- i'd just uninstall them.

I was about to congratulate you with your new PC, as I see no explicit question or request... :-[

If you want advice, I'd suggest to take that of mouser, Windows' own AV 'Defender' is quite capable, unless you intend to visit lots of 'shady' websites or the dark web, but if that would be the case, you'd probably already know what to do.
