Rating List DC - Feature Requests

(1/1)

NitrogenCoder:
Hello! I just found your Rating List DC app today and appreciate it.

I was hoping to post a few feature requests that I think could be really useful.

I would love to see the ability to add other fields to the item. For example, if I wanted to manage beers I really might want more than just a label. I might want a field where I can enter the name of the brewery. I also might want a field to set the ABV. If it were me I would probably design this as being set on the category. So for a given category, I set which fields items in that category contain. And then I just create the fields I need. An experience similar to aWallet Password Manager's category editor. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.awallet.free&hl=en_US&gl=US

Also to support this new functionality the user could sort by these fields and even filter.

Like another person who reviewed the app, I think it would be a nice feature to allow users to rate in 1/2 star increments.

Thoughts?

mouser:
This sounds like it would actually work well as a new android app using my framework -- perhaps better as a separate app than Rating List features.

So maybe an app where you could create as many items as you want, and create a list of arbitrary fields that each item could have values for.

And then let you sort and filter on those fields..

So basically just a mini little item database.

BGM:
What about a grand index of all programs available on DonationCoder and DC Friends?  (just an idea)

Oh, whoops!  I misunderstood the nature of this thread....
Sorry, just ignore me.

NitrogenCoder:
@mouser Sure I guess you could separate it out if you wanted. I was still thinking in the context of a rating app. My example using beer was to show that it would a lot for me to try to differentiate between the different breweries with only a single text field, hence the ability to add other fields to the item.
