I posted a reply here:
https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=11219

Can you tell me again which version of CHS you are using? I released a major beta update recently which makes a bunch of changes -- it would be helpful to know which version you are having the trouble with.
And are you using the portable or installer version?  I wonder if some security program might be blocking CHS access to its database files..

HI Mouser,
I was not using the beta. I am using version 2.55.0
So sorry I forgot to include this initially.

I ended up unistalling EVERYTHING. I was so sick of the errors popping up all the time. For days.
I deleted my CHS folders, so I really am starting from scratch, I guess. But that is fine. I do not think it was my security software. It never had caused a problem previously and I had it whitelisted.
Things as of now are fine.
God bless you.
Scott

let me know if it happens again there's no reason it should be happening but if it happens again let's track down what's causing it.

I got a similar error yesterday. The database is OK and working as usual after a reboot.

HI Mouser,
a NEW pop up error message today.
But annoying as all as always. I do NOT know why I get these so very often. Last time you wanted to track down why it is happening, so I hope we can do this rather fast, because I won't be patient enough to wait days on end.
Today's error when I booted up was DBISAM Engine Error # 9217 Error reading from the table or backup file 'Clip Table'

When I tried to make a copy of something I got another pop up error:
Error EX11: TableClips: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset

If problem persists, try repairing database; see Options dialog, Backup/Maintenance tab.

I was able to get screen clips via Evernote if you would like to see them, let me know.
Thanks, Scott

Mouser,
so sorry, but I could NOT stand it!!
I deleted all of the files/etc. today. Just couldn't stand the incessant pop-up's happening all day long the past several days. I know you wanted me to let you help me to figure out why this was happening, but I could NOT take it any longer.
UGGH. I understand you have a lot more than to help me, but I could not wait.

I am also getting the same error.
I have been using this soft happily during many years and sudently I get this error message

Error EX4 for db file
D:\Users\UserName\Documents\DonationsCoder\Clipboard Help + Spell\Database/clipboardHelpAndSpell : DBISAM Engine Error # 8961 Header information corrupt in the table 'ClipTable'

Before reading this blog
I check if it was a problem with the antivirus and disabled it but no luck
I check if for any reason I had to run it with a previous version of Windows and try compatibility option but no luck
At the end I uninstalled the product and deleted all the directories related with the product.
Then I download the last version and reinstall it from nothing.

When I want to get into the application I get the previous message, and after I get other messages:

DBISAM Engine Error # 9217 Error reading from the table or backup file 'ClipTable'

Error DBG109: DBISAM Engine Error # 11949 SQL parsing error - Expected expression but instead found ) in SELECT SQL statement at line 1, column 167

and if I want to go to "options and preferences" I receive this message:

TableClips: Field 'Inex' not found

Sorry I've been working on some other stuff -- I'm here now, let's see if we can solve this..

Can you guys tell me if you are using the latest official version, or the new alpha version (2.54 or later)?

Thanks for the answer..
The problem was with the full installation version
V2.46.0.1.
https://www.donation...board-help-and-spell

After your comments about the Alpha version
I downloaded this one
https://www.donation...AndSpellPortable.zip
and this one IS WORKING FINE but it's a portable version.

Hope this can help to clarify
Thanks

I'm on my phone, but presume that's the alpha version.
