Do good mice still exist? Looking for recommendations.
Shades:
hoping that the modern "gaming" mice will be more resistant.

After years of using Logitech M705 mice, where newer editions started double-clicking when not intended because of poor switches, I've since then bought the Razer Basilisk X, and that has proven to be of better quality, and still big enough for my not so small hands, but not as bulky and pricey as the Logitech MX Master. Another reason not to choose Logitech again was several reports of their sometimes poor quality from other ppl (colleagues, forum, tech-news).

Replacement of switches was not an option? If mouses with your preferred shape/size are expensive enough, replacing switches (with better models) could be a consideration. I have done this for my own Logitech mouse. I like it's size and the feature to add/remove weight via a removable 'cassette'.

I have replaced them, on multiple M705, but only mediocre quality switches I could find on the interwebz, so, 6 months later the issue was back, and I couldn't find the motivation to replace them again
