Is there any compact portable browser?

I recommend just pulling Frederic Meunier's build from here. Lynx only takes about 4mb of disk space. ;)

if I can derail this thread slightly, I'm also looking for a 'modern' lightweight browser for my netbook
Not worried about disc requirements, more about memory usage etc.
The current assumption that everyone has unlimited memory and mega core CPU doesn't apply here - limited to 2Gb ram and an atom processor
FWIW I'm currently using opera as it seems to be the lightest so far. Chrome is 'useable' but firefox isn't.
I've tried a few others but they all seem to be based on one of the current favourites so there don't appear to be any real gains

You didn't mention an OS so I'll assume Windows.
FWIW, on my old 1.5GB Atom powered netbook I used to use either K-Meleon or the XP version of PaleMoon (archive link) which had optimisations for Atom CPUs.
There's a couple of PaleMoon derivatives based on current code but patched for XP: MyPal and Serpent/UXP, (see page 118 for current builds).
Would be tempted to install a lightweight Linux and try Firefox, etc (currently have Bodhi Linux installed on my Atom netbook).

MAYBE this unusual info is important:
I assume Lynx is installed in D:\Program Files\Lynx. If you use another PATH, edit lynx.cfg and change-Lynx README

@Curt: Didn't install it at all: extract to Ram drive, open CLI, execute it, browse web.
