Formatting Presets SNAFU

(1/2) > >>

djMot:
Okay, so here I am in Notepad++ and I'm going to try out a formatting preset.  So as you can see, I have the second line of text selected.

I'm going to try the DashToTab preset, and as there is a dash in the selected text, I presume it will be converted to a tab.

This is what I get.  Whaaaaaat?

So I hit Ctrl+z to undo since obviously this didn't work.  This is what I get:

Okay, let's try Ctrl+z one more time...

Wow.  Again...

OMG!  Again?

Yea!  Back to square one.  But, I mean, WTH?

See my post in the other thread you started on the topic -- you've got to copy the clip first. It formats the last clip you copied and pastes that.

Not sure what's happening above as you have blurred the last copied clip.

djMot:
I just re-tried by first copying the 2nd line, then proceeding as above.  EXACT same result.

tomos:
I dont have Notepad++ installed here, and am unable to reproduce the problems you're having in Notepad or in browser.

Are you sure the clip was copied? -- did it show on the Quick-paste menu?
(In Options, (if not already) enable 'Play sound on capture' under 'Interface Options'.
That way you'll be sure the clip got copied without having to check.)

djMot:
Yes, it did copy.

I tried it just now in Notepad++ again and it did exactly the same thing.

Tried in MS Word, and it worked as expected.

Nevertheless, that still leaves a major issue with Notepad++
