I don't know about the others.

(the fancy one with text on the side seems to use something different -- not only that but it uses a 2bit png image as a mask for the engraved center image!).

Or give it some mirrored text&image so it can be used as a stamp?

Text on the bottom/sides is easy to design and render, less easy to print.
the write.scad library is nice because it does curved text for tops and sides of cylinders, but it has a weird format for fonts and doesn't look like it kerns correctly.
