The panel on the left uses explorer.exe
Double-click there should open an image in its default handler.

If you want the image to show in the main SC panel, just click it once.

If you want it to open in default handler, open a Windows/File Explorer window and see can you open an image there, or do you get the same error message?

As tomos says -- double clicking in the thumbnail panel in SC does nothing but tell the windows operating system to open the image with the default image viewer -- so this is likely a problem with your default image viewer not being registered.  You could try just installing a new free image viewer (like irfanview) and see if it solves the problem.

Yes, you're right, after open the map, and open one of the .png files, same message appear?
