Not strictly a scientist but it would have to be: Nikola Teslaw

Tesla is not considered a scientist?

Not what I said.

He was first and foremost an engineer.

I have a university Physics degree and that was the first time I have heard Tesla described that way (with or without 'not strictly'). That's why I posted  :)

Hi there ^^

I'm not a native English speaker, so I might be mistaken but… shouldn't the title be "Who's your favo(u)rite scientist?" instead of "What's […]"?

;D Up up up. I need more scientists !!!!!!!!

In short I will begin with Albert Einstein : the favorite until this moment 24.09.2017.11.29 of Mouser and Shades.

Is difficult to resume the life of anyone. But we have to. These witty quotes, epigrams, wisdom quotes may help.

Someday several of the persons in this forum will be remembered in the same way.

And for everyone will be an inspirational method reading the phrases of important - and not so important - persons.

Best Regards

In the mid 1980s I worked for too short a time with this gentleman:
https://patents.just.../inventor/ethan-hoag

All I could find on search was patent info.  No personal info.  He did CO2 Laser Research.  I assisted as an Electromechanical Tech.  I enjoyed that time very much.  In addition to intelligence and competence he had a sense of humor.  I use past tense because I believe he was close to 70 when I worked with him.

If he was not a "Scientist" he was close enough for the girls I know.  :)

Edit:  On earlier searches I got about a dozen hits for CO2 Laser related patents.  The link above is just the first.

I'm seconding etc Stephen Hawking. Also see he had a guest cameo role in Star Trek Next Generation!

Einstein is almost "too easy", possibly the most "over quoted" scientist (aka the abuse of E=MC^2 ), but with that modestly well known quote (I think) that problems cannot be solved at the same level that generated them. But also Einstein's Hair and that (hopefully legit) pic of him I think with his tongue out!

I don't know anything actually about Paracelsus but he was a Bad Guy on Warehouse 13 as one a rogue Warehouse Caretaker.

"Not Strictly a Scientist" is Scatman John, who famously used neuroscience to sidestep a terrible stutter to do some music, and I think James Earl Jones had speech problems too, and became Vader!

But then the surprise entry is, isn't Mouser a scientist!? Slight problems at the end of the thesis track, but we luv you!
