free mind-mapping solution? (for Windows and maybe Android)

(1/1)

brotherS:
Hi!

I've used FreeMind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) in the past, and it was good enough for what I needed, but since it requires Java I'm now looking for an alternative. Preferably freeware for Windows (and maybe Android), but maybe a free web solution will do.

Any recommendations? I found these with good reviews:

https://www.mindmeister.com is a (free when you only need up to 3 maps) web solution. Android version too (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meisterlabs.mindmeister).

https://coggle.it is another online tool, 1 map is free (but not with all advanced features available). Sign-In with Google and a good auto-save feature, I like it. Check out the screenshot there and those on https://coggle.it/gallery - beautiful! :-*

https://bubbl.us/ online tool, very easy to use, you can try it without having to register (free when you only need up to 3 maps)

http://www.xmind.net site is 'down' (maintenance)

Hmm, so you've been scared by the FUD-campaign? The only way Java was a security risk is when it was running from a browser, as was quite common before Javascript became so popular.
FreeMind uses the standard (installed by the user) JRE that doesn't have that kind of vulnerabilities.

Which FUD campaign exactly?

No, I just stopped liking Java. 8)

I use freemind too.
I don't hate Java, but usually is more unconfortable because some addons like the often folders . Java has its own explorer o something.

I would like other freeware windows and better is offline.

Contro:
Perhaps you can afford the free version of Bonita soft . Is for business. But the ideas exists also in business.
