Any replacement for ac'tivAid?

(1/1)

Tuxman:
As the ac'tivAid development seems to have been stopped, I wonder if there is a similar software available. I mainly use the function to assign global hotkeys to applications (so I can e.g. start ConEmu with Ctrl-Alt-Space) and the Shutdown dialog (Windows+Q).

Any ideas?

tomos:
Not exactly what you're looking for I think, but
I got the AHK experts here working on Win+Q a few years ago -- this was my favourite version, it opens the Window's Shutdown dialogue:

[..] if you want to update to AHK_L the hotkey can become this:

--- Code: Autohotkey ---#q::ComObjCreate("Shell.Application").ShutdownWindows()-Winkie (August 19, 2011, 01:04 PM)
--- End quote ---
-
there are other variations in that thread (one that just killed everything without asking which was too much for me).

I also have Ctrl+Q to close active window (but not on this machine so cant check the script).

Tuxman:
Nice. Now I just need an application to set hotkeys to other applications ...  :D

(TODO 2017: Read about AHK.)

tomos:
TODO 2017: Read about AHK.

I read a couple of pages about it once, but didnt get very far :-[
