research on the go
« on: March 27, 2016, 05:12 AM »
hello!

I will give you a description of what I want and can you please tell me please what hardware/software I could use to achieve that?

I want to work in cafés, so a sunlight resistive screen is a must, plus a good battery life

I want to read pdf and doc files and highlight terms and search for them quickly in specialized dictionaries, like legal dictionary, ideally without leaving the pdf document

I also want to browse the web with full functionality.

Can you tell me please what to buy to be able to do that kind of research?

thanks!

A tablet (~12") running Android or iOS or Windows 10, with a stylus pen and a detachable keyboard

You could do much of this with any Chromebook, reading the PDF in the app called Kami. By right-clicking on a selected word you can use a Google search for the definition (or translation).

They are cheap, they give you the fastest browsing speed around, and the keyboard is already built in.
