The hilarity of utter ignorance

(1/1)

Renegade:
Have a quick read here for an example of the epitome of ignorance:

Here's a snippet from someone who fundamentally doesn't understand what math is about:

“Encryption threatens to lead us all to a very, very dark place. The place that this is leading us is one that I would suggest we shouldn’t go without careful thought and public debate,” FBI Director James Comey said of the encryption of mobile devices in 2014.

Good luck with putting that genie back in the bottle.

More at the link.

And considering where Mr. Comey usually parks his head, I'm sure he knows a thing or two about dark places. ;)

Hahaha! Truth to power! :D

Stoic Joker:
“The fact is that, although the new software may enhance privacy for some users, it severely hampers law enforcement’s ability to aid victims. All of the evidence contained in smartphones and similar devices will be lost to law enforcement, so long as the criminals take the precaution of protecting their devices with passcodes.-The Article

I do believe that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Bottom line is these pricks have become so friggin lazy that they now expect conviction to be served up neatly packaged on a silver package ... Instead of making them have to do any 'Real Police Work'. Shit by that logic, it's a bloody miracle that they ever managed to arrest anyone back in the 70's - pre technology - dark ages.

Fear mongering and security theater, that's all they give us for protection these days ... Idiots.

Renegade:
^ Oh, I know. It's lunacy. They have no concept about what mathematics is. The idea of cryptography is alien to them. And that's just the start of their idiocy.
