Searching Shell Extension to Filter filelists

(1/2) > >>

crono:
Hi,

Im searching for a Windows Explorer extension, which allows me to "filter" the "details"-view. The best case tool would add a textbox on top (or bottom) of the Explorer-Window. When Im start typing a pattern (like: log*.txt) into it, it will hide all Files which doesen't match this pattern. Do you know something like this?

bye
Crono

mouser:
some file explorer replacements will do this (dir opus, powerdesk, maybe xplorer^2 also?) that might be your best bet.

crono:
I thought of this option, but I dont want to replace my Explorer completly. I cant give reasons why, it is something in my mind which does not allow me to switch ;)

I found a tool which goes in the right way - http://www.risefly.com/FileFilter.htm - but it is "too much" and it is shareware (opensource would be highly appreciated)

mouser:
all i can say is you wouldn't be the first person who said "eh, i don't see the purpose in swithing to an explorer replacement" and then came to feel they couldnt live without it after they tried - so you might want to reconsider your position :)

however, if you do find something, let us know.

crono:
hehehe - I tried so much replacements - they just do not "feel right" for me - this must sound insane - I know...
