Need to find a good outlining software for speeches
(1/1)
akb123:
Hi,
I'm talking a speech-writing course and I'm looking for a good outlining software. I tried using Google docs and Word, but Google docs is too hard to use, and Word is too expensive. I'm currently using WorkFlowly, but it's meant more as a day planner than an outliner. Any suggestions.
P.S sorry for the bad formatting and grammer

There are many different categories of outliner software out there. What features are you looking for specifically and for which platform? Online/offline? Singe-pane with or without inline notes or dual pane outliners?
What is it that you don't like about WorkFlowy? It is a fairly capable outliner.
But to get you started with some alternatives, you could check out
* Noteliner - single or dual pane without inline notes
* Gingko App - horizontal outliner
* Outline 4D - vertical and horizontal outliner with inline notes
* Scrivener - dual-pane (and more)
* WhizFolders - dual-pane (and more)
I also like Natara Bonsai (5 Desktop Edition) but I don't know if it's still possible to buy a licence. Although it's a mind mapper, Freeplane can also work as a pretty good outliner.

I'd suggest Scrivener. Very good program for any kind of writing. Feature rich without getting overly complex or esoteric. Highly recommended.
Note: It's currently on sale for $19.50 over at deals.ghacks.net:
