ooops... a bug!!

(1/1)

algasys:
I was using my PC and Clipboard and help as usual and suddenly, after a reboot, this soft abort with an error box.

I attest I don't change anything in the PC nor in the soft. I just made windows update. Because this is my "production PC" and I test share and freewares on an other PC.

I joint a printshot of the error box.

To be sure, I have re installed Clipboard help and always get the same troubles for now.

I don't know if the author of Clipboard help+spell read this board so I hope somebody could help me.

Thank you very much for helping me.  :-*

 ;D ;D ;D every 10 minutes he does ( it's me :) )

does it happen right when the program starts?
there is a known bug that seems to happen that is related to remembering the docking arrangement of the windows.

try exiting program and going into Clipboard Help+Spell directory
and deleting the files:

Last.preset.dock
Last.preset.grid
Last.preset

then restarting.

see if that helps.

if that fails you could try deleting:
ClipboardHelpAndSpell.ini
from the Clipboard Help+Spell directory.

let me know if this solves it.

i'm planning on releasing an update for clipboard help+spell this week and hopefully i will be able to fix this permanently as well as improve some other features.

ps.
the background image of your sceen looks nice - how about posting the whole thing for us to see.

Yes, I remember you I have re-installed the soft.

No that don't   :-[

There is no such a file in the different directories of clp+help  :(

Do you know webshots? No, clic this link webshots.com

mouser:
ok, here is my latest suggestion:

if you are using an older version of clipboard help+spell, try exiting and installing the latest version:
https://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/clipboardhelpandspell/downloads/beta/ClipboardHelpAndSpell.exe
and then restarting and see if it solves anything.

if you are already using the latest beta, try going back to the last stable version:
https://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/clipboardhelpandspell/downloads/ClipboardHelpAndSpell.exe
and then restarting and see if it solves anything.

lastly, as a last resort you could go to the Database\ directory of Clipboard Help+Spell, and deleting all your past clips, by deleting all the files in that directory (leave the directory, delete the files).

Actually much better than deleting them would be to zip up that Database\ subdirectory before you delete the files, or move the files in there to someplace else.  That way we can try to track down the error later if it is related to the clipdata.

please let us know the result.
