Activation area

voxel:
Sorry for revive this but I am using photoshop a lot lately and its very very annoying....  :wallbash:
Thanx.

"Could be possible to add an option to reduce (or specify...just one pixel) the width of the activation area?
Many programs, in full screen mode and without the title bar (for instance Firefox or Photoshop), have the menus so close to the edge of the screen that you end up activating LBC unintentionally even with some "appear delay". Also usually happens when trying to use scroll bars or buttons (minimize, maximize, close).
Now is 6 pixels wide....
Thank you."

mouser:
am i right in guessing you have a full height (width) dock?
i now strongly recommend trying the non-full mode and making a dock that doesn't span the entire length of the screen.
it's more aesthetically pleasing and solves this issue i think.
let me know.

voxel:
Upssss....yes, you are right  :-[.
I use 3 docks and they are full lenght. I am very used to this configuration. I have been using native "desktop toolbars" since Windows 2000 until they were removed in Windows 7 (by the way....I've been using XP in two computers until just a month ago....perhaps I haven't found a good replacement until now).
With some "appear delay" they did not interfered with daily usage. The only difference was that the activation area was just one pixel. You had to touch the screen border to launch the toolbar.
If you could give it a try for an upcoming update.....
Thank you.

mouser:
It's not a bad idea, I will put the option to customize activation area size on my todo list and see how hard it is.
I'm reluctant to promise it at this time because the hiding dock stuff has proved so fragile and finicky and kludgey that i don't want to break anything -- but i will give it a look.

mouser:
3 docks, nice!
Can you share a description or some screenshots -- would be fun to see how you are using them.
