Custom alias icon issue Win7

Same problem with latest beta. And with all cpanel icons. All I get is the same placeholder icon for .ico files from my imageviewer. I'll transition that computer to Win 10 before long though so the problem might go away by itself so to speak.

do you see icons in your regular windows explorer application?
you checked that Tweaks and Debugging tab?

Yes, checked that. Icons display all right in Explorer. But no biggie. Unless anyone else runs into this too it is probably due to some quirk in my soon replaced system.

So strange.. I'd love to know what the problem is.. My experience has been if one person has a problem, there are abound to be others that have it too and are just suffering silently..
Again, I could send you a debug version which would help us figure out the proximal cause if you like.
