Was there ever a version of Java that ran on 1.x that could have provided a reason or means for doing something so stupid?  :tellme:

Ed Bott has released the best summation I've seen on how, what, where, etc.  8)
He has explained the whole process from start to finish so you should be able to install the preview with all necessary info on one page  :D

My text-to-speech program tried to do something like this - if you try out the time limited demo of a new version, it wiped out your paid copy of your older one!

However, I was able to dismantle it and go back to the old one, but it certainly was sneakier than that had to me!
