Windows Phone is nice. But the apps suck.

Both true. The latter hasn't bothered me yet though due to my basic usage.
Used a fairly unmodified Android 4.4 for the last year. This Win 8.1 is, so far, much nicer to use - pretty much all round

Well... At least there's two of us.. ;) :D

I like the Windows Phone. I've even finally gotten around to sideloading my own apps on it.

That's what I was thinking of doing- writing my own apps to supplement the lack.  Too much work, however.

Actually it should be a snap for you, as it uses a code language/style you like. I forget exactly which one it is...(I want to say ATL - But it been several months since I played with it)...but you're the one that turned me on to it in another thread. I went from not-a-clue to using my first - sideloaded - app on the phone in ~48 hours.
