In South Florida it is so flat that lightning often hits the ground. During a heavy storm it sounds like an artillery barrage. Especially downtown Miami the sound bounces off the buildings. In fact it's almost as loud as the guys driving Ferraris with glass packs.

Yay Florida ... I can never remember if we're 3rd of 5th in the world. But it's a wild show at times either way.

It's so flat, that when I moved there as a teen, I remember thinking the sky looked weird...dome shaped.
