Apple now allowing apps to transmit Bitcoin?

HUH!?!
https://developer.apple.com/appstore/resources/approval/guidelines.html
11.17 Apps may facilitate transmission of approved virtual currencies provided that they do so in compliance with all state and federal laws for the territories in which the app functions

This is a pretty big turn around for Apple. Has the massive negative publicity they got from Bitcoiners has worn them down?
However, the wording there says "approved", so... what does that mean? There's no further mention there, so it could mean anything.
I'm skeptical for now... Apple doesn't have a good track record for being transparent, etc. etc.

Apple indulges in a huge amount of user monitoring. And they're very cooperative with requests from Uncle Sam.
I think it's more that the powers that be want a closer and better a look at Bitcoin use - and users.
And who's in a better position than Apple to provide that information to them?
;)
