getting empty video files via Firefox > DownloadHelper?

I have gone ahead and installed this add-on to use as a backup when DH fails: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-download/

It adds a little dropdown button under the Subscribe button on a Youtube page, right next to the thumbs up/down. It also offers an option for MP3 download. It's not as nice as DH, in that it won't properly name the files for you. They default to "videoplayback". The MP3's are named ok, but this is done through a 3rd party service, which opens in a new tab with the link to download the MP3 file.

But it does work with the videos that DH fails on, so as a backup method, I'll keep it around, for now.

Thanks for the clarification. However, there was no "enable all", to finish the job! :stars:-Curt (February 26, 2014, 08:44 AM)

Not really required, as you're usually enabling them 1by1 or a few at a time since you're in that mode to do fault finding.

Curt:
^oh yeah, fault finding! I just knew I forgot something...  :wallbash:

I donated, but at first didn't see the thing work quite so "Pro" as expected. Turns out the license merely is a cookie from the Thank You!-page, so protection and/or a bookmark is important.

You can use Tubemate of Devian Studio instead. See details at DevianStudio.net

Curt:
Congratulations on your application for Android, Devian. We have a thread where you may announce your apps: https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?board=172.0 which is a more suitable place, than here. Please also remember to inform about your connection to the company, even if it already is in the name.
