getting empty video files via Firefox > DownloadHelper?

(1/3) > >>

Curt:
Are any other Firefox (Pale Moon) DownloadHelper users but me having troubles with YouTube, downloading empty video files? I think the problem began with version 23, but it may be just a little older.

Works fine here:

Pale Moon 24.3.2
DownloadHelper 4.9.21
DownThemAll 2.0.16

I use the DownloadHelper dropdown to choose dTa! OneClick.

If you've got lots of addons in Pale Moon, I'd make the suggestion of starting it in Safe Mode with addons disabled, (hold down SHIFT while starting).  Then just re-enable DownloadHelper and see if it's OK.

Also, are you talking just Download or Download & Convert?

Curt:
^sounds easy, but you cannot enable extensions when in safe mode...

---
Always "download", never "and convert"; I am not a paying customer there.

However, 4wd, if you don't have any problems downloading from YouTube, (thank you for informing!), my problem must be one of the addons. It so far seems I must take the hard walk, testing them. There really are times when I want fewer extensions... (?!)

Yes, I have been experiencing this issue. Always seems to occur if attempting to download a Vevo video. Also occurs at other times, as well. I just assumed that Youtube did something recently to prevent people from saving the videos and they haven't finished fully rolling it out, yet. I never thought it could be an issue with DownloadHelper, itself. Hmmm...

Curt:
^interesting. Just before you posted, I was thinking, "are they all originally from Vevo?" and then you said the same thing! Maybe Vevo is the sinner? I will remember to make a note about this the next time I go video hunting.
