Question for Linux Gurus - Ubuntu - Mouse & Network Problems

(1/2) > >>

Renegade:
I'm booting Ubuntu off of a USB drive and it won't connect to the network or USB mouse. Grrr...

Anyone have any tips?

Shades:
BIOS/UEFI have options nowadays to boot with no USB device support, partial USB device support (default=allows you to boou from USB devices and have a keyboard, but not much else) or full USB device support. This is done to keep the time to boot as low as possible, while still supporting the essentials in case one needs to do low-level repair jobs.

I would check for this setting first, at least.

Renegade:
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind for next time. :)

I ditched Ubuntu for SMOS BAMT. Things are working perfectly now.

I wonder what SMOS BAMT is  and find this

Yes. It's for mining alt coins. I've currently got it on Dogecoin. The OS does the trick. Nice and simple and works. Mined about 2,000 DOGE or so since I got it running and into a decent pool.

Took a bit to configure cgminer properly, but I've got it running at around 660 KH/s now. With some more tweaks, but might be able to get it between 700 and 800 KH/s.

But it's a lot easier than dealing with Ubuntu problems.
