Re 5 yes and the change worked, it was just a thought regarding the default.

Re 3 yes and the change never worked it always opens in the Series Tab for me.

Started with version 1.03, upgraded today to 1.06 build 1.
Running currently on xp from a flash drive.

After the option failed I assumed it related to updating the Weekly tab on start not showing it.

Several retests since including version 1.06 build 1 and option fails to show weekly tab on start.

I Love EpCheck as it is but have a few suggestions.

1)The  website TVDB.COM mentions the Air Day, Air Time, Network on the first page for each series example = TVDB.COM Almost Human This data could be retrieved and displayed hopefully in the Weekly Tab and in the Series Tab. The second Column in the Weekly tab appears to be unused and could hold the data Air Day, Air Time, Network, of course the Weekly Tab only needs Air Time, and Network. The area just after the Air Date column is blank space/ empty column.

2) Series Tab could highlight current episode, or similar to Weekly Tab it could highlight Past, Present, & Future thus all previous episodes, seasons could be ignored since all would be red.

3) Currently EpCheck opens in the Series Tab, an option to open in the Weekly Tab would be great.

4) Minimize until update complete would also be a great option, as would start Minimized.

5) Default color code could change to RED = Past Green = Today Blue = Future this follows the light spectrum roughly, and green = go of course. (I have changed using options already, just a thought.)

I'll answer your suggestions in order:

  • Yes, you are correct about that data, and I haven't added it (yet) for two reasons: 1) I haven't decided WHERE to put that data.  2) If I add the network time, it stands to reason that folks will want that time converted to their timezone.  To see why I'm hesitant about that, watch this video: https://www.youtube....re=player_detailpage
  • That's a good idea and one I'll see about adding.
  • It's there in the Options tab.
  • Hmmm...I never intended for epCheck to be one of those apps you keep running at all times and I don't like apps that don't start up right away.  That is, I'd rather have an app start up, appear, and then do its update business.  Otherwise, I feel, you sometimes wonder if you double-clicked properly (or however you start an app).
  • While I can appreciate your logic, this is exactly why I made this part configurable.  =]

Thank you for your wonderful software.

You're very welcome.  I'm glad you're finding them useful.

Seems to work here for me.  Do the other options work/save properly for you?

re 5 the option worked fine though with version 1.03 it took a while and a restart of the program to display anything I believe it crashed.

Re 3 This has never worked and unchecking and rechecking etc it never worked for me.

Just to rule out the thumb drive, would you mind trying this from an SSD/HDD on your computer?

For some reason, I do not see a StartupTab=Weekly in there under the [Settings] section.  I really have no idea why it's not saving that setting for you since it saves it here just fine.  You can try closing epCheck, adding that entry to your config.ini file, and launching epCheck.

This looks like something I can make use of but on my high res monitor the text is so small it is hard to read.
Is there a way to change font size?

Hi, subtech, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.  Are you talking about the font size in the listviews?  Or, the font size of the overall application (Options tab, etc.)?

Everything is pretty small at 1920 X 1080 resolution but the list of episodes is the most important to get larger.

I can certainly make the listview font an option but have you considered increasing your DPI settings?

I increased the DPI setting when I first got this monitor so that most everything looks OK so hate to change for just one program. Don't make any changes just for me. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking a way to change font size since I just started using epCheck tonight.

Thanks.

This is what epCheck looks like for me in an XP VM running at 130%.  Is this similar to what you see?

Everything on mine looks about half that size but mine is much sharper than that shown on your image.
I'm really liking this great tool.

@subtech:  Please give this latest version a try.

Website | Download
v1.0.8 - 2014-01-10
+ Added option to specify a font for the listviews and summaries
fields (same font for both).  (Thanks, subtech)
+ Added a "Reset splitter positions" to the new View menu in case
the Series tab's splitter positions go wonky.
    * Reworked the Options tab to accommodate the new font option.

WOW....fantastic! I will never miss a show again. I have been using TVRage to keep track of my favorites but this program is much better.

Thanks a lot.
