myWOT uninstall nightmare

agreed, if the leftover information is enough to actually IDENTIFY you, and it's somehow doing that not using the normal way (cookies).. well i can't think of any justification for that -- and if it was done on purpose, and is actively being USED to identify people? that's NOT ok and needs to be called out in a serious way, and we should expect some answers.

i mean every site on the planet now tracks users with cookies.. and i don't quite understand how a site is identifying a WOT user without a plugin and without using cookies.

can someone explain that to me?

i'd just like to see some more evidence or explanation about that before i make up my mind..

surely a website is not allowed to run javascript that can go reading your arbitrary firefox browser configuration settings.

So anyways, when I'm using Firefox and click on the "+" sign to open a new web browser and before telling it what website to go to, it gives me this grid of nine rectangles, that even with 'history' turned off, tells my history of the last nine websites I visited.
Before I did 'reset' on Firefox (and BTW thank you very much for showing me how to do that), I had it set up not to do that, and it didn't.
But now I can't remember how to do that.

(edit): I remember now; I had it set up somehow so that everytime I clicked on "+" to create a new blank tab, it would automatically go to my favorite website!
Now I just need to remember how I did that...
