It was definitely possible to just take a screenshot without saving it to a file in the previous versions.

After changing my Windows language profile (to English UK), I now get an error message <'1,0' is not a valid floating point value.>

I didn't succeed in discovering anything useful from what was pasted.

With a default installation of the latest beta (portable version anyway), after a capture I get a dialog box with the title "Screenshot Captor - New Screenshot".

There is a section named "Operations" and one of the drop-downs contained therein is named "To clipboard:".

One of the choices within the drop-down is labeled "To clipboard: Image". I chose that option and heard a sound. Pasting to the Paint application showed that a capture had occured.

Subsequently, I searched a number of folders via SSC's main window but didn't manage to find any saved file of what had been captured.

May be it is supported out-of-the-box then?

I'm looking for this feature too. I have no need for saved files - I use them directly from the clipboard. I can find no way to turn off the saving of files.

you can turn on this option under "Misc. Tweaks" (see image below for reference).

That was exactly what I was looking for and didn't recognize it when I looked through the options.
