In conjunction with my Screenshot Captor screenshot taking tool, I frequently get asked for recommendations concerning OCR software to scan an image and recognize text.

Slightly related question...
Is there a Windows tool for searching text within images in a directory. So basically OneNote/Evernote type functionality working on files in the searched folder/drive. I have had a few situations in the last few months where this could have saved me a lot of time.
